Scan for bluetooth devices, phone finds it and is able to make the data connection. OBDKey fires up, light blinks on powerup to indicate it's alive. Plug it into the sled, clip on the tether and pull the handle. CAN-High (Yellow) to 6, CAN-Low (Green) to 14. Soldered ground (pin 5) and power (pin 16) to the appropriate pins, check it out in my truck to make sure. 14V DC, polarity's right, everything's checkin out so far. Hook up the connector to the sled, and check out power and ground first. now that I'm a little more comfortable with the sled.

ANDROID users, I use the "Tourqe" App $5.00, and a Scan-Tool OBD-II BlueTooth wireless Dongle to read Ford 6.0 specific PIDS' from my Ford 6.0, it gives me everything I need except Fuel Pressure, and EGT's.I can get EOT, ECT IPR HPOP etc.

I looked into this a few years back, and discovered that the Watercraft guys have been able to hack into Polaris ECU's, but it took stolen software and a fleet of nerds to wire it up. Something to do with changing from OBD-I to OBD-II He may be of help here.ĥ) Think "Off-sets" or "you call it this, I call it that" after the standard PID's, OEMS' will use their own offset number for another defined PID, and cross-reference them together. Miles-to-empty could be a literal life-saver.Ĥ) I believe the OEM is using CAN-BUS, I have a friend who is a software developer with a leading CAN-BUS user. Motorcycles aren't much different, tuneboy, tuneecu, etc are all based off of this exact type of process.ġ) Don't cheap out on the OBD-II "dongle" especially if going with a wireless (WI-FI, BLUETOOTH).Ģ) Why can't the MFD have a simple GPS like most the ATV guys have?ģ) The MFD, coupled with all the other Fuel Management/Delivery sensors, should be able to display (for Fuel) GPH, Gallons remaining, Miles To-Empty, MPG.I feel this information is being held-back by the OEM's. (speaking in terms of programmers like edge, hypertech, etc) That and even all the automotive stuff is basically hacking jobs as the maps themselves are pretty closely guarded.
Or people coming up with programmers like there is in the automotive world, depending on the extent of their logging inside the ECU they are probably leery of it for warranty reasons. haha I would guess they were more worried about someone messing with their digital wrench program than someone reading codes. I doubt there are too many Mules out there who want to hack into their sled to datalog or build their own display. I do not see why Polaris would be encrypting or hiding anything when it comes to this.
If not, I would guess it would be super simple for you Mule to figure out and they even simplified it more than a vehicles design. I would doubt they re-write all this across the board for all their vehicles that use programs such as digital wrench. I am going to take a guess they are the standard commands and functions.
